Map Toronto with Tupalo
1:00 pm |
Here’s a great online tool that epitomizes what Web 2.0 technologies are all about: It’s a local mapping service called Tupalo, in which users populate a basic Google map of their city with information on the best places to eat, drink, shop, hang out — whatever.
Toronto is the second city to be Tupalized, following Vienna, Austria, home of the site’s developer. As with most Web 2.0 applications, the audience and content creators tend to be one and the same. I’m especially fond of sites like this that can provide a local emphasis, proving that the Web might be worldwide, but it also helps us live better in our immediate surroundings.
I’ve already written a couple small reviews (my username is Mr. Mason), with more likely to come.

Hey Mr. Mason, thanks for mentioning us. We’re going to launch Montreal and Vancouver soon(ish) as well as quite a few other features.
Thanks for believing and please let us know if there’s anything you’d like us to look into, change or fix.
